FUJIFILM Healthcare Europe are excited to announce the European launch of the new therapeutic gastroscopes ELUXEO® EG-840T and the specially designed narrow EG-840TP endoscope for advanced treatment. Following the groundbreaking ELUXEO® 8000 system, this is the second in an entire series of new and upcoming innovations to be released under the ‘WELCOME, FUTURE’ initiative.
“We are excited to announce the release of our unique therapeutic endoscopes. Featuring the new ACI observation mode (Amber-red Colour Imaging) from our latest ELUXEO processor. we expect this solution to be even more beneficial during less invasive third-space endoscopy treatment and we are proud to be supporting the important work of endoscopists across Europe.”
– Ryuichi Yano, Product Manager – Core GI Equipment, FUJIFILM Healthcare Europe
WELCOME, FUTURE.
With our engineering, craftsmanship and over 90 years of imaging heritage, we are redefining what’s possible for endoscopy and welcoming a new era of possibility for EndoSolutions. The FUJIFILM Healthcare Team has developed a series of new technologies designed to transform the endoscopy journey, from screening to treatment. We will be revealing these in stages across the next 2 years.

NEW ENDOSCOPES FOR ADVANCED TREATMENTS
FUJIFILM’s new gastroscopes have not only been designed for observation and diagnosis, but also for advanced endoscopic treatment. In the management of early-stage cancers of the gastrointestinal tract, such as the oesophagus and stomach, therapeutic procedures with low physical burden to the patient, such as endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR) and endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD), have become increasingly popular in recent times. 1
These endoscopic procedures require advanced techniques that demand enhanced endoscope operability and approachability included in our leading new ELUXEO® endoscopes.
SLIM OUTER DIAMETER WITH 3.2MM WORKING CHANNEL
While the ELUXEO ® EG-840T has an outer diameter of 9.8 mm and provides more stability, the more flexible EG-840TP includes a specially designed narrow outer diameter of 7.9mm which is expected to improve treatment in narrow and constricted areas, such as the oesophagus and duodenum. With a focus on optimal treatment, both endoscopes incorporate a water jet function and the 3.2 mm working channels provide an ideal balance between precise movement of the inserted device (e.g. the electrosurgical knife) and aspiration performance while inserted.
IMPROVED REACH WITH 160o DOWN ANGULATION
The new endoscopes are engineered to improve manoeuvrability, supporting easier observation and approachability of difficult to reach lesions. By increasing the downward angulation to 160o (from 90o on previous models) while maintaining an upwards-angulation of 210°, the new ELUXEO® EG-840T and 840TP are expected to improve access to previously inaccessible areas.
“The ability to look 160 degrees down is game changing in this design as it allows us to precisely visualise areas which we otherwise may not be able to access easily” – Dr. David J. Tate MA, MBBS, MRCP, Interventional Endoscopist and Gastroenterologist, Ghent University Hospital, Belgium
HIGH-RESOLUTION CMOS SENSOR FOR HD IMAGE QUALITY
With the addition of our more light-sensitive high-resolution CMOS sensor, the new ELUXEO® EG-840T and EG-840TP endoscopes are designed to enhance high-definition image quality, supporting special light observation modes such as Linked Colour Imaging (LCI), Blue Light Imaging (BLI) and Amber-red Colour Imaging (ACI) that can assist in the entire screening-to-treatment endoscopy journey.
IMPROVED INSERTION AND OPERABILITY
Designed to improve operability during procedures, the new ELUXEO® 800 series gastroscopes include Fujifilm’s proprietary Adaptive Bending technology, providing an improved elasticity of the insertion tube. Additionally, these endoscopes incorporate our Advanced Force Transmission technology which is based on gradual stiffness, a feature that was previously only found in colonoscopes. This is designed to easily transmit push-pull and rotation movements from the endoscopist's hand to the distal end of the endoscope, reducing the torque load when performing rotary operations.
